On My Mind

A Slip Of Color

Vogue This story, from the May issue of Vogue, illustrates two sartorial bugaboos that’ve been on my mind—color and volume. In a nutshell, I’m tired of my neutrals-only wardrobe and, super-sized pieces.  However, I’m a huge layering  fan and these slip dresses worn over pants and tops keeps them from looking ‘borrowed from the 90’s’.

Window Shopping

Ralph Lauren

Depending on how you look at it, my office is either in a fantastic neighborhood or, a potentially ruinous one. Within a one block radius are a number of the best designer shops. While walking to work yesterday I snapped these pics of some of my favorite spring pieces on display.

I think I may need to try the Ralph Lauren tunic and pants, the Valentino prints this season are beyond gorgeous and, although I’m not a gingham fan, this beige check at Bottega Veneta could convert me.

This is a great spring look and could easily go day to evening. I love the tie-at-the-waist shirt and will let you know who made it. The pantsuit below is good, too.

At this point, I feel like I’ve tried every pair of jeans out there. The Louis Vuitton’s above fit like a dream and are super comfortable, I’m just not tall enough to carry them off. These images are from a story in the Telegraph.

Hands down, my favorite spring trend is denim. Dresses, skirts, and pants in all shapes and lengths—I love it all.

Hermes, Chanel Two of my must-have items from PFW are this Hermès dress and the classic Chanel pumps. I took a second look at Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski’s debut collection for Hermès and like a lot of it.

‘Notes To Myself’

Hermès

Last week, I met a lovely woman (in the elevator at Bergdorf’s) and it turned out that we have numerous friends in common. When I pulled out my agenda to jot down her email address, she commented that I was “old school”. Despite having a website with a shop element, when it comes to notes and dates, I keep a diary.

Which is why I love the above image. This beautiful story, from the Hermès SS15 catalogue, was photographed by Vincent van de Wijngaard and styled by Camille Bidault Waddington.
