Cool Collaboration

CTJ x Pallas

A few weeks ago Claire Thomson-Jonville (top left), editor in chief of Self Service Magazine, posted on Instagram that she is collaborating with the Parisian label Pallas and used the hashtag #lesmoking.  The resulting capsule collection launches in June and Ms. Thomson-Jonville spoke with Vogue’s Mark Holgate about her inspiration for the line. From the three images above, they look like classic wardrobe staples.

Profile On

Agnes Baddoo x Dôen

Handbag designer and kic contributor Agnes Baddoo is profiled on the Dôen site. Funny, the last time I profiled Agnes she was in a Dôen dress—they’re a good match.

Winter Olympics

Curling Crazy

No, this is not about hair; I’ve been watching the Olympics.

Chloe Kim may be a snowboarding phenom and Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir’s biting skating commentary and matching outfits have been hilarious, but curling has caught my, and seemingly everyones, attention. Could it be the stunning Russian curler Anastasia Bryzgalova?

Anastasia and her husband won the bronze and now I’m hooked on curling—go figure.

Vogue Italia

Sunday With Gisele, Cont.

When I first met Gisele, she was a sweet Brazilian teenager. We all knew she would become a superstar, she just had ‘it’. Still a great model, it’s nice to see her fresh-faced at home with her family. And tonight, I’m sure she’ll be cheering on her husband at the Super Bowl—I’ll be cheering, too.

Jessica Hart Inspired

Coat Length Dilemma

I always struggle with styling a shorter coat over a longer dress or skirt—Jessica Hart nails it in this pic from her Instagram feed.

W Magazine

Daniel Day-Lewis in “Phantom Thread”

I cannot wait to see Daniel Day-Lewis as British couturier Reynolds Woodcock in Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film Phantom Thread.  Day-Lewis tells W that he is giving up acting and this will be his final role—sad news, indeed.

In Memoriam

Azzedine Alaia

Azzedine Alaia died this morning in Paris—if you haven’t seen Joe McKenna’s film, please watch his homage to the beloved designer.

I stumbled upon fashion stylist Joe McKenna’s documentary on Tunisian-born French designer Azzedine Alaia on Instagram–it’s a must-see. The New York Times spoke with Joe about what inspired him to make the film.

WSJ. Magazine

Innovator: Reese Witherspoon

This week has been a blur and I cannot wait to get into bed with a bunch of new books and magazines. First up will be WSJ. Magazine‘s Innovators Issue, which is on newsstands today. Reese Witherspoon looks fantastic in Cass Bird’s photographs and I’m sure Derek Blasberg’s interview will be a good read.

Vogue Paris

Simply Sofia

These stunning pictures of Sofia Coppola are by Inez & Vinoodh for September Vogue Paris. The Cartier Panthère (Ms. Coppola directed a short film to mark the relaunch of the classic watch) looks especially good. She is sublimely chic.
