Bits & Bobs

Here are a few things on my radar: the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar France has a terrific accessories story, and I love the bags in the two images above. I took a page from a Disneyrollergirl post on doubling up — instead of hauling around an overstuffed tote, I’ve been carrying two bags together. Thanks, Navaz!
Lauren Groff’s new book of stories, Brawler, comes out February 24 — a belated Valentine’s Day gift to myself. One of my other favorite Valentine’s presents is paper geraniums from The Green Vase. They last forever and require no watering.
I’m on the hunt for slim, straight-leg jeans; Puck’s Lauren Sherman wrote about a few pairs I’m eager to try.
And Moses Martin is all grown up, with a band of his own. People I’ve Met has two songs out, and they’re worth a listen.

Thank you Preston – love your Bits & Bobs!
Thank you for the book and music recommendations. Lauren Groff is one of my favorite authors. Even to this day Fates and Furies is a book that is still discussed among my book lover friends. I have been looking for a straight jean too. Jane on Jeans recommended AYR’s the legend. I wish Levi’s 501’s looked good on me, but they don’t, and truthfully button flies are too much work.
Could you share the brand of the white jeans? I love their line, but the link has a paywall. Thanks.
The white jeans above are a street style image, they represent what I am looking for. Lauren Sherman linked to a RE/DONE pair

I collect jeans, and have some very expensive pairs…but, the above are my favorite. They fit very much like the street style shot above.

This one is great too. They sell fast, but restock quickly as well.
I would try Rag and Bone Dre jeans. I have been wearing them for years and the look is the same.
I spotted some great jeans at the coffee shop on a young woman this morning and asked her about them. I recognized a high cotton content and liked the medium wash. She said they were The Gap and confirmed 100% cotton. I’ve recently purchased 100% cotton white jeans from The Row but the tag says dry clean only. Does anyone have experience with laundering theirs?
I’m always looking for a good straight jean, it’s my white whale! For years I wore jeans and blazers (beautiful pieces thanks to my sister-in-law’s consignment shop in Barcelona and The RealReal) daily for work as an independent consultant. to small businesses. Then I went back to school to retrain as a therapist. Now licensed in private practice in New York City, I wonder if that is professional enough – would welcome thoughts about how anyone would feel if their therapist wore jeans.
I would be more than fine with a therapist in jeans.
Thanks, Preston!
Looking forward to the new Lauren Groff book!
