An Anorak

One of the things I have learned from going back and forth from NY to Paris so often is that packing multiple coats and jackets isn’t optimal. Even though I take trunks, coats are the ultimate space hogs. Finding something to go with both pants and skirts was a challenge. The Row’s Althena anorak — from a number of seasons ago — hit the mark. A bit more polished than a traditional parka, and less cumbersome than a wool coat, this down-filled, cashmere-lined jacket has been the perfect space saver. I now make the trip with one less trunk.

Preston—always love the pics of your outfits. So stylish & chic. Always so much inspo!!
As always, great post! I love the jacket and always find myself with the same issue! Problem solved. I also love the black jeans, can you share who makes them?
Preston, your eyebrows look great!
And thanks for the recommendation. The anorak is definitely a chic alternative.
The first photo is everything! So lovely. I am a notorious over-packer, so the anorak is a great solution to my coat conundrum. Thank you for sharing it.
Michelle, the charcoal jeans are Frame mini bootcut from 2024. They are discontinued, but I found 5 pairs in my size 70% off on Saks. Felt like I won the fashion lottery! I will be wearing them forever. Sad that Frame recut all their styles.
I love the Anorak and am curious what size you purchased? The Row runs big and usually is overwhelming on my short frame but looks perfect on you! Also seems very hard to find …
Thank you for sharing.
I bought size 0 for all the reasons you listed. The anorak is from 2024, but they usually have different versions available.
I love your blog and look forward to every post. But that Row jacket is 4K!!!! Where is our knock off?
You look so chic … where can I get the boots – Hermes?
Thank you. You are always so generous and kind. So appreciated ❤️
Yes, Hermès Jumping boots in marron ébéne.
A woman was wearing a great down-filled anorak on my flight to Boston last evening, but she couldn’t remember where she got it. Max Mara often makes ones just like it. I am looking for others for you!
I found my second one on Poshmark last year — NWT! Talk about winning the fashion lottery, again.
Preston, I bought the the Frame charcoal jeans mini bootcut jeans last year on sale at Frame because you had recommended them. They are the perfect pair of jeans, flattering and forgiving. I just received an email from a saleswoman at Frame and I am going to ask her if they would consider bringing them back. Hoping the powers that be at Frame also check your site!
I recently went back to Preston’s post of 2 years ago on the Max Mara Cube to find a jacket that I could layer over a big sweater and wear to pilates, coffee with a friend, the grocery store, etc. I had bought the Cube vest from Cettire 2 years ago and have worn it and loved it. I still get compliments on the vest.
I found the Max Mara Cube jacket in 4 colors on Cettire and paid $350 for it. It’s not as elegant or city street worthy as the Row anorak, but it’s a great run around jacket.
