Chic this Week

A peek into actress Amanda Peet’s L.A. home on vogue.com. The pic of Amanda romping with her daughters is adorable.

Garance Dore photographs Amanda Brooks at home before Amanda and her family move to England for a year.

I have always wanted to know more about French television host Mademoiselle Agnes and thanks to Into the Gloss, I now have more of a sense of this very chic woman.

Apartment envy: Scott’s Parisian pied-a-terre

I really love designer L’Wren Scott’s apartment in Paris that ran yesterday on Vogue.com. (She shares it with Mick Jagger; her life is rough!) My living room is almost the same color palette as hers (minus the fantastic only-in-Paris moldings and groovy artwork). Two things I took away from it that I am considering:

1) A lucite console table. There is what looks to be one way back on the left in her living room. I’ve been thinking about one for my entry hall, but don’t want to veer into that David Hicks’ 70s era kitschy-ness that I am frankly so tired off. Scott’s looks sophisticated, and since a lucite table is basically a blank canvas, I should be able to make it work. Peekabo lucite console, below, $379, CB2.com.

2) A bench in place of a chair. I love the proportion her bench instead of chair at her desk. The Ballard Designs Monfort bench, below, would easily do the trick. Plus you can change the upholstery fabric for something with more zing. Bench, from $549, Ballarddesigns.com.

Look we love

Hanneli has certainly become a personal style superstar and this pic proves why. We have posted a bunch of times on winter white, but I really love this look for its proportions. The amazing generous top from FW12 Calvin Klein Collection and skinny jeans are chic for anyone at any age and would be a perfect school-run outfit.

Chic this Week

A really good post from Into the Gloss- Aurelie gives grown-up advice on skincare and we are big fans of her jewelry, too.

A great round-up of upcoming art exhibitions from all over the world thanks to the Tory Burch blog.

Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis by Marko MacPherson for vogue.com

This image is from Vogue’s Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl series profiling Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis. The tusk pendant is fabulous and similar to one I lent Jennifer for her white dress photo.

In Print

Until recently, I have shied away from prints. Many of my friends refuse to wear them citing that they are too young. But my all-time favorite go-to dress is a Chloe black and tan crazy print shift (Jennifer has it too) and until this season, it was the sole print in my wardrobe.

Not any more, I am on a print binge!

Garance Dore

Burberry show by Garance Dore

I find this image by Garance Dore very compelling- the girl is naturally gorgeous and the white tote (and totes in general) is something Jennifer and I keep talking about and will post on next week.

10 things i loved about London on vogue.com

Although the fashion flock is currently in Milan, I really love this post by Meredith Melling Burke for vogue.com as it captures some of the excitement from London show week.

The Coveteur

Aslaug Magnusdottir, co-founder of Moda Operandi, let The Coveteur into her closet and it is one of my favorite profiles so far.
