Tod’s For The Win
These Tod’s W.G. Lace-up ankle boots are good-looking and practical, just trying to find this color. I see only black calf in the women’s version — men’s come in a number of colors. To be continued.

I have these which are similar and they’re fantastic, and as comfortable as sneakers.
I just started to search for a Vince chukka replacement you suggested years ago and I’ve worn out 2 pairs. This is it! I’m going to try the mens and see how it goes. My fingers are crossed. This ticks all the boxes (color, warmth, comfort & traction). If not, Kathy I’m going for your suggestion next!
For this kind of “good looking and practical” boots I don’t need to pay few hundred $, sorry, looks cheap and nothing special. The previous version was much more elegant and versatile at the same time, in a beautiful chocolate suede and natural shearling. They were in grey and black in previous editions, had three pairs over the last 15 years of the same boots, sadly the last pair purchased about 6-7 years ago is not the same quality any more.

Finally made it to Rome! I love Tod’s too and checked the Rome store. They have the boots! I had to ask if they were for women and they are. I did buy them, they are super comfortable and lined in a checked wool. The color is so pretty.

What did you end up doing with the Tod’s? I ordered them, because I absolutely love all things Preston. They are here and they are beautiful, but I am finding them a bit big (wide). This is probably a weird thing to say with everything that is going on in fashion right now with big shoes. I find it difficult to shop for winter shoes. I want one shoe to tick many boxes and that is just impossible. This shoe fills, chic, comfortable, and casual, but it is suede, so I wonder how it will fare while I am running around in the city (rain etc.).
I found them too tall, but you are a supermodel so you wouldn’t have that problem 🙂 If you buy boots in suede, you need to be prepared for whatever happens to them.
