Net-A-Porter: Ballet Flats
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with ballet flats, the shoe du jour this past year. However, there are some exceptionally good ones on NET-A-PORTER and I’m going to give them a go. Chloé, The Row, Khaite, The Row and in black
:
I love a good ballet flat but my aching back cannot walk on such a flat heel and sole.
This is a timely post as I was checking out the Le Monde Beryl mary jane flats on Matches on Saturday. They look just like the mary jane flats from the Row but I am hoping for a narrower fit. I like the Chloe version as well but am not sure on what to buy.
Love them. Which of these did you buy? I always wonder about wearing my flats in the winter. I worry about cold feet, but maybe on one of these sunny days I could pull them off. Or attempt flats with socks– or tights?
I just adore the simplicity and youthfulness of ballet flats. I wear them around the house and garden, to a friend’s home, places where I don’t have to walk far on concrete (bricks even worse!). For me, not enough cushion, not enough arch, and like ST, I can’t walk on such a flat heel without back pain. But they are so darn chic! Enjoy them while you’re young ~ things change 🙂
. . . if I were to buy one of these it would be the one in the upper lefthand corner. I like that little show of carmel lining with the black.
Love a ballet flat…I am lucky that at 71 my feet will still tolerate a very flat shoe. I still have several that are wearable…my black scalloped Chloe flats are still in good condition after at least 10 years!
Ballet flats are my love language. Wearing my Khaite Ashland pair as we speak. Tights/knee highs with ballet flats are incredibly chic in the colder months. Marcheline Isabelle
Chloes are the most comfortable flats I ever slipped on, Sharon. I’m impressed that you have given yours a decade of life!
Funny, I had the Chloé scallop edge flats for YEARS then gave them to my daughter — and she still wears them! That said, I bought the Chloé in off white. Only had a smaller size than mine, so I’ll see if they work.
Love your picks especially the maryjanes from The Row. I’m eyeing the Toteme gathered ballerina and their fur flats – both really great shapes.
I hope they work for you, Preston! The leather is so soft that they may fit. I still smile over attempting to purchase a pair of the scalloped Lauren flats at a Chloe store in Paris. When the saleswoman learned that they did not have my preferred color in my size—they had a half size up or down, they had other colors, but not what I went in to purchase—she declared that it would be impossible to sell me a pair. I dearly love the US, but this saleswoman’s precision was very much a reflection of the city we were in.
