In Love With Linen
This outfit — on one of the gorgeous Danish Moosgard twins — is my summer inspiration. The white co-ord set of shirt and shorts paired with their Lié Studio earrings and black slingbacks is perfect for summer in a city. I’ve never been a linen fan, an unmade bed always comes to mind. But I have done a 180 and recently purchased a number of pieces from James Perse and Alex Mill. We leave for Martha’s Vineyard in a few weeks and then London. Linen feels right for both.

Please post pics of you in your glam linen in both those lovely locales!! Xoxo
Lovely photo! Thank you for sharing. I usually buy a couple of James Perse linen items every summer; recently got one of their white shirts and right away bought another. They just felt so soft! I don’t like linen shorts that flare but discovered that Alex Crane’s men linen short was a great fit for me. Great find!
I was a big fan of linen for many years, but then, (like you, Preston), I realized I looked like an unmade bed! So no more linen, at least in a professional setting. But linen seems to be having a moment and since I am not in an office setting anymore, I can look disheveled-in a chic way. I recently had a shirtdress custom made for me from an old Halston design. It seems to fit the zeitgeist of current fashion. I’m looking forward to buying more linen pieces before warm weather is gone.
This image provides immense inspiration. I’m on the hunt for a perfect linen set. I wasn’t even planning to pair said linen set with black flats until seeing this post. Please keep us posted with your linen looks! Marcheline Isabelle
This is one of the most stylish photos! I absolutely adore linen, and a white linen shirt is a must in any woman’s wardrobe. It’s not an evening shirt, unless you’re wearing it on or near the water. Or Italy. But for daytime, I think it’s the most chic summer fabric. Everyone needs a white linen shirt, white linen dinner napkins, white linen handkerchief, and – if you can fine them – vintage white linen pillow cases. Embrace the wrinkles and enjoy this ancient textile.
I absolutely love pure linen. As summer clothing, it breathes well and floats just above the wearer. As a curtain being pulled back, it feels good in the hand. I’m looking to replace a knit linen top that used to be a summer workhorse. While I’m comfortable with some wrinkling in woven linen, knit material can be incredibly breathable, and it can help stave off those wrinkles!
I’m a recent convert to linen everything,~ especially loving my bedding and duvet, cover. It took a little getting use to but I’m loving it now!
Thank you for mentioning Alex Mill! Finally, I found a pair of white shorts I can wear!
