“Who Will You Be This Fall?”
Emily Sundberg, editor of the Feed Me newsletter, posed this question to her readers recently. With ’60s ladylike and ’70s boho — two of my favorite eras in fashion — shown on the runways last spring and now in stores, I asked myself, which decade my style will skew towards this fall. Even though both the Celine cashmere coat and Toteme shearling are on my inspiration board and would be welcome additions to my wardrobe, I chose the Celine. However, I plan to wear it with vintage-inspired Frame jeans, Chloe clogs, and other boho trappings.
Who will you be this fall?
:
I will be a bit of both as well! That Celine coat is lovely!
I will be all Celine. (Except a knock off!)
thank you Preston – you enlightened me on fall’s sartorial choices – love both!
Definitely the wool coat. I would drown in the fuzzy number. The little A-line swing style is fresh and feminine! A glove, handbag, and after your clogs, perhaps a tall boot a la Peggy Lipton? I have a black unlined wool swing coat with one button at the neck (hidden buttons across chest) from 5-6 seasons ago. Love outerwear, and love a wool coat!
I live n the southeast so the shearling would be extremely impractical. Coats in my area are worn infrequently due to the mild winters, so if I’m going to buy a coat it needs to be one that I can wear for the long haul.
I like both, especially the wool coat. I have a black swing coat in a similar shape. That era is all me…I graduated from college in ‘73!
I will be both!
I adore this question. I recently started a new job (which explains my lack of posts!) and the first week was in person. I kept pondering what to wear and how I wanted to present myself to a new group of colleagues. The succinct phrase “Who will I be?” beautifully sums up how I was feeling.
As for this post, the Toteme shearling is who I think I am, but the Celine is who I actually am. As I’ve gotten older, it’s been helpful to know the difference between the two. You look great and I’m excited for all of your fall fashion inspiration.
Thoughtful comment, Marcheline. Congratulations on the new job! xp
