Jonathan Becker: Lost Time
Photographer Jonathan Becker’s new book, Lost Time, will be available October 8. The retrospective monograph commemorates forty years of his brilliant photographs. I met Jonathan at Vogue in the late ’90s, and his partner, the editor and stylist Alexandra Kotur, is one of my oldest and dearest friends. When we bought the house in Bedford, NY, they were the only people we knew there.
Photographs from Jonathan Becker: Lost Time are on view at The Katonah Museum of Art. The exhibition was curated by Mark Holborn and is up until January 26, 2025. I just bought an Edition of At Eden Roc, the image on the cover of the book. It’s being hung tomorrow.

I love her! She is so stylish. On another note, I was chatting with Marcheline yesterday and I cannot find any wallets or card holders that wear well over time. I have tried hermes, chanel, loewe, vuitton, the row, celine, and comme des garcons. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you accurate when you state that Alexandra Kotur is his wife or is she his partner? Did he divorce his wife?
Not sure if this isn’t a fact why it would be included. Doesn’t add to the strength of Jonathan Becker’s incredible talent. Doesn’t add to veracity of this site.
My Longchamps one has last for many years.
I have an Hermes wallet and card holder. I’ve had both for 20+ years and they’ve both worn beautifully.
I am guessing that many of these items are made in the same factories, but for what it’s worth my daughters and I have used the YSL cardholders for years with no problems.
Tracy, I thought of you as I struggled to get cash in and out of my card holder at my manicure last night. Looking forward to the responses here, as we are all in search of the unicorn of card holders! Marcheline Isabelle
Bottega Venetta
I have been using a Louis Vuitton wallet and a Bottega Veneta wallet alternately for years. The BV is made of very soft leather and therefore shows a bit of wear…the LV made mostly of coated canvas looks almost new. I don’t baby them, so very satisfied with both. I have several others in the mix, but those 2 get the most use.

Tracy, i carry a Dior Saddle Lotus Wallet in grain leather in a beautiful, cheerful French red. It’s very efficient for cards and cash, with a small zip pocket for coins, and feels wonderful in the hand. The D charm is stylish hardware.
I’ve given up on designer wallets and have been using Quitterie by Delfonics (got my first one in Tokyo years ago) . Their pouches and tiny wallets are life savers for my large and small bags.
I use one, too! It’s white so I see it quickly in my bag.
I’m down a Delfonics rabbit hole. Stella, Preston, do either of you have the half zip? It looks like it would fit my needs perfectly. Now to choose a color…
After I’d discovered delfonics in Tokyo, I wanted to have them all, and in every color! My favorites are in taupe and bright blue – I believe the taupe one is called greige. The one I use now is just over 4 by 3 inches and has a zipper that goes halfway around the pouch, and inside there is a little pocket, right in the middle. I was lucky to find a card holder in the same color – on Amazon of all places – that fits perfectly inside my pouch/wallet. I used to only use my delfonics when I traveled to fit my slim messengers but now it’s my everyday wallet. I hope this helps!
Prada nylon zip pouch has inside pockets for cards and a zip compartment for valuables. . Perfect for slipping in a tote or carried on its own. Enough room for glasses OR a phone too.
