Chanel SS26: A Breath of Fresh Air

In his magnificent debut collection, Chanel’s new creative director, Matthieu Blazy, perfectly synthesized the heritage and codes of the brand with his original vision. Thank you, Mr. Blazy, for infusing a very welcome lightness into the house of Chanel. Hooray!

“perfectly synthesized the heritage and codes of the brand with his original vision” – beautifully put. Love the shout outs to Chanel of yore—and the whimsy and beauty!
Did you get a little emotional while watching it, Preston? I did-..I found MB’s vision absolutelySUBLIME.
So many looks reminded me the early aughts when I worked in sales for CHANEL. The relevant, joyful way he played with the house codes made the house more energetic and fun.
Some favorites- the Crash Chanel Classic( gasp), the Charvet collaboration in honor of Coco, the caviar beaded tweeds- it is absolutely perfect. I wish I could have attended the resee– am living through photos of colleagues who saw it this morning.
An editor from WWD said the look on the upper left side was screaming Art Basel curator and I totally agree! Shopping is going to be fun again. xx S
I, too, thought Chanel was lovely and a breath of fresh air. Looking back several posts, I saw questions on how to modernize pearls. Recently my local jewelry store in Charleston, SC sent my pearls to Marla Aaron. I had them restrung in on a blue cord with small rings one each end. (Yellow or white gold.) You close the pearl strand with a lock attached to the rings. Marla Aaron has many locks of all metals, sizes, and price points. A lock can dress up or dress down your pearls. I have worn them way more than I ever did before.
Chanel was fantastic, but Holly, I’m dying to see a pic of your restrung necklace! Marla Aaron is wonderful, and I love her pieces.
Well said, Caroline. However, I’m not sold on the altering of the “black toe”
I loved it. Such beautiful movement and energy. Making tweed great again!
