Fall Inspiration
The sum total of my fall purchases is 4 pairs of shoes: 3 The Row pumps, 1 pair of Belgian shoes in brown suede. The Belgians are replacing an old, battered pair, so they don’t really count as “new.” I’m still searching for a car coat, and The Row’s culottes were enormous, so I took a similar floor-length skirt of theirs from a few years back to be shortened. It will look almost identical. Of course, I gave both of my Hermès Collier de Chien cuffs to my girls and am thinking of getting a new one. I have a ‘no backsies’ policy.

No luck on the Margiela? I am also looking for a fall coat.
Like The Row, the Margiela and the Studio Nicholson coats are exactly what I’m looking for – I cannot find a small enough size. I started looking too late. Especially the Studio Nicholson- perfect coat, but it was too big.

No matter it sometimes sits in its box for a couple of years, It is a classic.
My Etoupe cuff with Palladium hardware is back in action this year, looking perfect with a little merino sweater.

My fall list was short – the beautiful fisherman’s sandals from The Row (in brown of course), but they are already out of most sizes. I’ve decided that online shopping has turned into modern day college applications ~ now that everyone across the globe is shopping online 24/7, the chances of getting what you want are pretty slim. Not to mention the time consuming aspect of DIY searching of every single item! Aside from those sandals, I’ll be looking to replace my wool boucle car coat length from about four years ago when in France later this month. And my brown calf gloves. Maybe a great new shawl to pull it all together.
It’s been so warm where I live that I have barely thought about fall apparel. I do want a car coat-maybe a brown cashmere plaid with some red or turquoise in it. And a squishy leopard print calf hair bag. But, as I am longer go into an office, my clothing needs have changed to clothes to wear to auctions, art fairs, traveling, to jazz clubs and the opera, to dinner and other events.
