Hermès: Wear Forever Clothes
A gorgeous SS22 Hermès show and I want to really see each look, not just the video. To be continued.
Also, How To Spend It has a fantastic profile on Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski, the head of womenswear, in this weekend’s magazine.

I loved the sandals in the show
The sandals did it for me too.
Let me chime in on the sandals. Love. The overalls and coats did it for me. Thank you Preston for the links, I’d forgotten. Can’t wait for closer looks.
The coats, the LEATHER PIECES- sigh. And the last couple of black dresses- so modern and timeless and au courant. The jet landing at the end was perfect. What a collection.
I loved the overalls, too, with the gorgeous leather trim.
A very nice forever collection! Vogue Runway has the photos including close-ups of the garments and shoes.
I enjoyed the How to Spend It article and liked practicality of windowpane turtleneck that is part of the AW 21 collection. I was so inspired I signed up for the Hermes newsletter.
It reminds me of Philo and Celine.
I absolutely loved the FT interview! After a period of disenchantment with Hermes in general, I have made three RTW purchases over the past few months. A few phrases from the interview stood out: “codes of luxury, tiny details, humble beginnings.” For me, this is the definition of chic.
A detail reference, drawstring, made my heart skip! First, because my first sewing effort as a girl involved a drawstring waist, and second a reminder of an Hermes SS 2000 skirt, which to this day is possibly the most chic little item hanging in my closet. Ms. Vanhée-Cybulski’s drawing from Hermes’ archives is brilliant as well. Change for the sake of change in fashion is overrated.
Wow – her apartment is beyond gorgeous. The architecture, furniture and art! Restrained and well curated, but manages to be cozy and homey too.
