YSL At 60
To mark the 60th anniversary of Yves Saint Laurent’s debut collection, there are currently six simultaneous YSL exhibitions in major Paris museums. The exhibitions display the designer’s creations alongside the art works that inspired them. They’re up until May 15 and I’m determined to go see them. I have a YSL black chiffon peasant blouse from the ’70s that I pair with black pants and heeled sandals, and a lot of more recent Saint Laurent pieces, as well. I just picked up this chain belt, not as heavy as the one I bought last spring, and a pair of navy velvet pants for my daughter. The fab Spring 22 denim looks are available for pre-order, too. And the book above, published in 2020, is packed with great images.

The New York Times posted a photo from the Musee d’Art Moderne de Paris of YSL pieces displayed against projected artwork from Raoul Dufy that is stunning! I just ordered the Panier caged rafia tote from the 2022 collection.
I remember being one of the people on here who was anti the new Saint Laurent and for the most part I’ve had to eat my words numerous times and would totally wear the velvet pants you bought your daughter. Having said that my fascination with all things Yves lives on, thanks for reminding me about the Betty Catroux book. Crossing my fingers you are able to make it to Paris.
Ordered the belt! I love chain belts.
