A Few Days in Paris
I met my husband in Paris last week for a brief and very fun two day getaway. We stayed in the uber residential 16th and watched adorable children start the school year. For the first time in seemingly forever I do not have a child returning to school, which is wonderful and, yet, very weird.
The Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection was the highlight of the trip. It opened spring 2021 and the film chronicling the renovation of the historic building is fascinating. I popped into British perfume maker Lyn Harris’s recently opened Perfumer H outpost in the Marais to pick up her new scent, Bergamot. And, ordered a monogrammed white shirt from Crimson.
The perfect quick trip.

Shirt is adorable! Men’s shirts have been monogram-able forever, but since Brooks Brothers quit monograming their ladies’ oxfords years ago, I haven’t owned one. My uncle and brother put their monograms on their cuffs of their business shirts. I think it’s a nice sartorial touch.
You’ve sold me on quick trips. I think, because you’ve lived and worked in Paris, each time you go you don’t need to cover a lot of ground. Sounds like it was a great two days.
I am going to Paris next week with my husband. I have never been to Bourse de Commerce, so will check it out on this trip. Any restaurant recommendations?
Lord, what a wonderful first sentence! Will keep the 16th in mind and perfume sounds beautiful. Fall is always a great time to find a scent.
I love the 16th!
