More Fall Reads
Last December I posted on Claire Keegan’s Small Things Like These, which was so good that I gave it to a number of friends over the holidays. Keegan’s Foster is getting great reviews and is available in the U.S. November 1. The fall issues of Konfekt and Self Service are winging their way to me, and Carlos Mota’s Forever Green, out last week, is on my bedside table.

Thank you for flagging Keegan’s new novel! I read the short-story version in The New Yorker and am eager to see how it unfolds in a longer form. Writing like this is hard to find.
Konfekt is wonderful. So much to read, interesting people to discover, lovely photography and no filler/endless advertorials (or if they are, they’re good ones!).
It is wonderful – I picked up the spring issue in Rome last May.
I ordered Small Things Like This – not sure how I missed that post. Looks great.
Oooh, a new magazine to read!
I’m super late to this post, but wanted to check out Konfect and be informed. Every descriptive phrase and adjective used in the magazine description spoke to me in a positive way:
“Sharp dressing, drinking, dining, travel, and design.”
“Champion craftsmen.”
“Beautiful things made well.”
“Chic seasonal looks.”
“Joyful newsletter . . . good humor.”
“An exacting eye.”
“Celebrates a chic, understated glamour.”
I could go on – if the magazine delivers on half of this, it will be a success. For me, this is what I want a publication/fashion guide to be. There was barely a mention of the editors and no mention of what people look like or their back stories. It sounds like a magazine focused on talent, craft, style. I signed up immediately. Thank you, Preston, for writing about this!
Thanks for the intro to Claire Keegan.Just purchased my second issue of Konfekt and love it all. Finally a worthwhile magazine to enjoy all-round!Hoorah!!
