The Calm Before The Storm
This is the last quiet weekend before Thanksgiving prep and an exceedingly busy December take over my life. The Alex Katz: Gathering exhibition at the Guggenheim and the film The Banshees of Inisherin top my to-do list. In FT‘s fantastic Q&A with British Jewelry and interior designer Solange Azagury-Partridge, she shares that the Chanel Le Crayon Khôl is her beauty staple — this tidbit inspired me to up my holiday beauty game a notch. I recently posted on Chanel’s Noir Allure mascara, my new beauty staple.

I want to see that movie so much, but the closest place it’s playing is 2 hours away. That and the Katz show are a good reason for a weekend in NY. I’ve started wearing mascara too – I have a Lancome that I love, but maybe I’ll try the Chanel one as well. Do you ever wear lipstick?
Banshees is at the top of my movie list, love those two, especially together. Also love that mascara and I own many of the pencils ( Eros, brun agape and prune) although my favourite is the stylo ombré et contour. As a liner or shadow they’re fab. Especially love electric brown, rouge noir and beige (it’s more of a bronze). Another great multi purpose Chanel beauty item is the baume essentiel.
Instead of the usual Thanksgiving my sister and I are heading to London Monday. I’ll be driving back across to Canada on the 24th so hopefully not too crazy.
I saw The Banshees of Isherin the other night. Really liked it. A bit dark and sad yet humorous at times. Colin Farrell was fantastic and the scenery amazing….
I wear the Hermes Beige Naturel on rare occasions. However, I have gifted it to many of my friends – the perfect small luxury and the color seems to suit most.
I saw “Banshees” last weekend at my local art theatre. Awesome movie. Funny and poignant. Beautiful scenery. Colin Farrell and Mad Eye Moody…what’s not to love?
Troyce.
Preston, I bought the Chanel mascara right after you posted about it. Absolutely love the brush and the formula. I’m guessing Solange’s jacket is an Indiana? Looks beautiful on her.
