In The Wild
The brilliant styling of a down vest/parka under a cable knit cardigan was too good to pass up. From the low ponytail to her suede loafers, this woman has terrific personal style.

So chic! Love seeing your In The Wild posts.
Also love her summery bag with her wintery clothes – a look I’m noticing and liking a lot right now.
LOVE that cardigan sweater. I’ve been looking for one for years. J Crew has one that is similar but I’m sure not the same heft and quality. Anyone have any suggestions?
For sure! The beauty of cable knit, loafers, and solid hues. Heart…
ST, check out this cardigan from Navy Grey… not cheap but you will have it forever!

Amy, many thanks for the Navy Grey tip.
Gorgeous site and sweaters, it’s dangerous though as I want them all!
Heidi Wynne for cardigan sweater! Which I think I learned from this blog a year or two ago, and was lucky enough to get– love it. Navy Grey looks amazing too.
Ahhh…Seeing someone with authentic personal style makes me giddy! Over the years I have accumulated a folder full of “in the wild” shots and often refer back to them for inspiration. Thank you for sharing Preston. Happy Thanksgiving.
I love your “ In The Wild” posts. For a moment I thought Linda Wright was shopping at my local Whole Foods!
Happy thanksgiving to you & your family!
I keep waiting for someone from Greenwich to ID her…
Wow the Navy Grey cardigan! I had not heard of them. I’m on the waitlist now. Beautiful. Thank you for the recommendation.
I have been on the hunt for a new pair of black suede drivers. I’ve tried Tods but sadly they don’t work for my feet. Any idea who makes the ones shown on this chic woman?
Heather – I don‘t know who made the drivers that the very stylish lady in the photo is wearing but I have a couple of drivers from M.Gemi that I like very much. Also a good prize point.
Thank you, Mylene!
Love when you post “in the wild” photos. Heidi Wynne has some fabulous cardigans.
I love this post and her classic style! Any ideas on the pants?
I love that there is such enthusiasm for such understated, basic, decades-old foundational pieces like a good well-made knit cardigan, classic moc-loafers, a bag reminiscent of LL Bean, a woman in her natural state of hair, and a puffy vest. This is like a fashion de-tox! 🙂 This lovely woman could be my mom in the 60’s at our neighborhood grocer.
I think the bag is SeaBags from Portland, ME.
I bought a very similar cardigan from Rebecca Taylor last year and I’ve lived in it! It’s the first item I’ve bought from her.
Other than this woman’s amazing sense of everyday style, as an over 50 myself, I am loving seeing great style inspo on someone who isn’t 25. Thank you Preston for posting this!!
Also love the length of her trousers!
That’s Not My Age: I love the length too! I have a hard time getting the tailors to hem them that high! They look at me like I’m crazy.
