Earth Tones
Recently, these are the bags I‘ve been reaching for most often. I like them best with a grey peacoat – anything grey, actually.

Whew! Three very handsome bags! Bordeaux/cordovan works with other shades in the same family as well. I have three Lida Baday pieces from the early 2000’s (a short dress, and a pull on skirt and t-style top all in double-faced wool knit) which I describe as grape, a color my mother wore beautifully, and I have found my little cordovan Ferragamo structured bag is happy with these shades as well.
There’s a fellow Canadian whose name I haven’t heard in awhile.
Her clothes were simple, timeless and created with gorgeous fabrics.
Thanks for reminding me Paula
Susan, I’m still mourning the closure of her house. I credited her amazing style to her French Canadian heritage. When I received word, I called the shop owner who introduced me to the brand and told her I would buy the samples from the upcoming season. As a result I have two fabulous cocktail dresses which I will wear forever. She was so ahead of her time.
Lisa Baday. Wow. Another Canadian here taking a trip down memory lane. I used to wear her pieces all the time when we would dress up every day to go to work! I sadly purged them many years ago before a house move.. Her pieces were elegant and classy and very well made.
I am another Canadian who admired Lida Baday and her amazing style! And, I have a gorgeous very long grey alpaca coat of hers which I discovered in a consignment shop. I fell in love with it when I first saw it one September but decided I really didn’t need another winter coat! However, I went back in November, it was still there and I felt it “had my name on it”. I am tall and I’m sure it was way too long for any others who tried it on – lucky me!

Yes, fellow Canadians – Lida Baday’s line was great. Thank you for this patriotic trip down (fashion) memory lane.
I’m not from Canada, but I have several of Lida Baday’s pieces also. Love her style.
I’ve been wearing gray for years, with black accessories, but I love the brown idea so thank you, Preston.
