In your view, how essential is the crewneck, specifically, to capture this look (or for modernity in general)? For those of us who are, say, bigger on the top, even a modest v-neck can be more flattering. But they’re much harder to find and I’m wondering why.
I noticed Dior showed classic grey turtleneck sweaters in their recent photos featuring their jeans. Add a pretty handbag and gloves – Game set match!
Lisa, my go-to for V-necks is White & Warren. Love their crewnecks as well. I have yet to purchase anything from Cos. Is it really that good?
Nice images! I find the shade of gray to be particularly important—there are many, and some suit my complexion much better than others. I also agree that V necks are more flattering to larger busts, but the classic crew neck, with a hint of white collar and cuffs peeking out, is a great look.
I have two of the Cos cashmere crew neck sweaters, and although the band around the neck is wider than I like, the sweaters are really thick and nice. Surprisingly good quality for the prices.

COS makes nice sweaters. I took a chance on a shrug and so far haven’t been disappointed.
I have two gray sweaters from Naadam-the $75 ones. One I’ve had for years. As for v necks I buy Naadam’s men’s v necks. They are not quite as low as a women’s v would be. I’ve had a couple of their sweaters from back when they began. For the price they can’t be beat. They’ve out lasted some of my more expensive sweaters. They also have a more luxury range too.
