A Grey Flannel Gown
Recently, a friend asked for gown advice and I blanked — it’s neither something I need, nor on my radar. Evening wear should be timeless, so when I see something I love, I buy it reasoning that I will need it at some point. Last night I picked up September Vogue France and was wowed by this Alberta Ferretti grey flannel gown. Flannel is unexpected and unbelievably chic.
Just stunning.
SWOON. This is an incredible gown. Thank you for sharing, Preston. Marcheline Isabelle
So AMAZING! The drape and nod to men’s suiting , wow.
Perfection! The grey flannel gown is ageless, elegant & timeless. I’m sure you will have a special occasion to wear it to. Thank you for sharing, Preston.
Ooh la la – glamorous.
Evening and “gowns” are such a hard one for me. This is so very elegant and simple. I would feel like myself in it.
Incredible!
I had this almost exact dress, by Max Azria I believe, early 2000, satin lined, grey flannel. If I back track the social events, it may have been 1998 – 2001 when I wore it. Loved it, and so many compliments on it. Of course with a ruby rich lip, bare face and a long bob.
I love the sheer gloves!
My dear friend owns a consignment shop and a vintage grey flannel gown by Geoffrey Beene came in. At the time, I thought I have no where to wear it … suffice it to say, it’s the one that got away!
So elegant and timeless.
