Capes, Cargo Pockets, & Skinny Pants
Summer is not my shopping season — new sandals, skirts, shirts, maybe a swimsuit — nothing earth-shattering. Fall shopping is the best, and the Resort collections are even better. Vogue’s roundup of trends from the recent Resort collections spotlights a few of my personal favorites — capes, cargo pockets, and skinny pants.
Toteme has a gorgeous floral tulle cape for those wanting to wear the style this summer.
Will always love capes …but cargo pockets and skinny pants … no. Reminds me of the Jennifer Coolidge commercial where she ponders whether or not it’s worth saving parachute pants for when they’re back in style.
I love cargos and skinny cargos. Jennifer Aniston still wears them and looks great in them. What was the early mid 2000’s brand that made great skinny cargos? I loved those.
I have a few pairs of Current/Elliott’s from the mid 2000s that I cherish and will be so happy to wear them in the fall.
I looked at the Vogue link. It’s clear that one can wear whatever one wants…just wear with confidence! And never over -purge.. if you love it and have room, keep it because the style will be likely to be revisited sometime soon.
I believe you mean Nili Lotan. They had great skinny cargo pants. I still have some, but they are way too low-waisted. I completely agree with you, Preston. Summer is not my favorite shopping season either.
