The Kitten Heel, Cont.

Sorry to keep banging on about kitten heels — how I’ve rediscovered them, with socks, on my wish list — but I realized that a sandal, not a closed toe, is something I don’t already have. This Celine pair is winging it’s way to me.

  • Please, never apologize for your fabulous posts! I can only handle kitten heels and my favorite sandals are the Manolo Blahnik callamu and The Row chocolate/capretto mules. The ankle strap on the Celine pair is perfect and I can’t wait to see how you style them. Marcheline Isabelle

  • Have a pair of Manolo Blahnik callamu mules in black alligator – absolutely adore them!
    They look as fabulous today as they did the day I bought them – over 20 years ago!

    About wearing socks with kitten heels: I don’t know if that would work for me,
    but, I do remember seeing that look many years ago in W and thinking how outré it seemed;
    but now my eye is used to it and I actually like it.
    So, go for it, Preston!

    And, I agree with Marcheline about your posts –
    moreover, they’re fun and a nice respite from the turmoil in today’s world.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

  • Perfect! I especially love the position of the heel.

  • No danger of too many posts on kitten heels! My love of the shoe started low those many years ago with the Manolo Blahnik Carolyne, which I continue to wear in calf, patent, and peau de soie. I was very lucky to find a black suede Prada, very simple classic pump without their usual logo clutter, and most recently J’Adior, about the most fun shoe to wear I’ve ever worn!
