Shirt as Coverup, Cont.
I first posted on the shirt as a coverup in July 2020 with the collage below of @natashapoly and @pernilleteisbaek. In the two years since, my shirts have gone from borrowed-from-my-husband to truly oversized — see @ngoldenberg ‘s above. Like Natasha Goldenberg, I’ve been sporting a Jil Sander white shirt, but there are many to choose from. Linda Wright’s Crimson and Thakoon also make super chic oversized options.
Frank & Eileen’s Mackenzie linen shirt is another great – and affordable – option. It’s soft white linen and nicely oversized.
I’ve always loved this look. I remember borrowing oxfords in college to wear on college spring breaks as a cover up. I’m a big fan of Faithful The Brand shirts (great colors) and A Shirt Story remade men’s shirts.
I agree with Cat. I love my linen oversized shirt from Frank & Eileen.
But I think there is nothing chicer than a crisp white or blue and white striped dress shirt from my husband’s closet. It also allows me to feel comfortable wearing a bikini If I do up a middle button or two. G.
Love this post and the images of Natasha. I have two truly oversized white shirt dresses from Cos – one long sleeve and one short sleeve – that I live in during the summer months. They both come close to my ankles and are suitable from the beach to dinner. Here is their version for this season. Have a fabulous weekend, Preston! Marcheline Isabelle
I adore this look and live in it on weekends over shorts or a bathing suit and during the week with everything BUT I am such a klutz that Cos or Jil Sander x Uniqlo is about as pricey as I am prepared to go. Have a great weekend.
I have AYR’s blue oxford and the Portuguese striped cotton men’s shirt from Alex Mill that I wear constantly. I prefer button shirts to t-shirts these days.
