Want to know what I love even more than scoring a fabulous item while thrifting? Rediscovering a sensational piece in my closet. This Valentino coat, which I bought in March 2004 and only wore a few times, will be front and center this fall. #Don’tOverpurge

Stunning piece!
Sensational indeed! Timeless elegance is always in style.
Trust me I do not purge! #IwantaclothingswapwithPreston
It’s lovely. I too love discovering items in my closet that I have not worn for a while but that now are au courant. I’m also looking for more occasions for which I can dress up!
LOVE! And love the sandals.
Amazing. Head to toe. X
Beautiful! I love shopping my own closet for things that are even better quality that what is currently available and this way I’m not adding to landfill!
Hooray for deep closets! Lovely! The great thing about outerwear is (trusting moths haven’t infiltrated) coats generally don’t get heavy wear and can last for decades! For months I have been contemplating my packlist for an upcoming trip that has a few stops and I decided to take an Hermes dress from 2000 (yes, you heard that right)! I figured, what am I waiting for? I originally bought it for a late summer trip, and I think it will be right at home this time around as well.
I bought the COS sandals after you posted them a few weeks ago! Love them… And you’re wearing it.
Marcheline Isabelle got me to take a closer look at COS — I bought two pairs of these sandals after I posted on them last month.
Seeing Preston give me a shout out must be how people feel when their name is in the newspaper! I love Cos. Some of the oldest pieces in my closet are by Cos. I was surprised to find out that they are part of H&M Group. This coat is divine and will look great paired with black accessories a la RHW. Marcheline Isabelle
Wow! This coat is gorgeous on you Preston! And loving the look of your home in the background – such a great creative vibe. Would you please do a home tour? 🙂
It’s gorgeous and I’m wondering why you haven’t been wearing it much before! I miss coats…a lot!
I purchased it for our renewal of vows in March 2004, then put it away. Perhaps I thought of it as a wedding dress of sorts. Honestly, I don’t know, but I’m looking forward to really wearing it.
What a beautiful find—and right in the best place to find it! Your sandals look smashing with the coat, too. I recently pulled out a Valentino piece that my grandmother gave me years ago. I don’t know how many decades she wore it. Talk about timeless.
