NYFW FW24

This & That From NYFW

The Carolina Herrera cape and bag are so chic, just wish I could wear them this spring and not have to wait until the FW24 collections are in stores late summer. And, the belted Bottega Veneta tunic  and Frame jeans on the NYFW showgoer below get 5 stars.

Miuccia Prada Covers March Vogue

Miuccia Prada on the cover of March Vogue — with an accompanying must-read profile — is brilliant on so many levels and makes me incredibly proud to be a former Vogue editor.

On My radar

Coat Tales: NYFW

NYFW is underway and there are already some great coats on the FW24 runways. Proenza Schouler opened with a black peacoat and then repeated it in white. The bands on the sleeves are a nice detail.

Proenza Schouler showed a cream fluffy coat right, which made me think of Toteme’s FW24 coat left shown in Paris during the couture shows.

Derek Lam, the newly appointed creative director of the Italian brand Callas Milano, has some beautiful coats in his debut collection. Callas Milano is direct-to-consumer and is presenting the FW24 collection by appointment.

Bright Tights

After I posted on colorful tights two weeks ago, I’ve been meaning to try a few pairs from the Italian legwear brand Calzedonia. I’ll let you know.

Khaite: The Loveliest Dress

While perusing the Khaite SS24 runway images last September, I let out a little sigh when I spotted the pleated silk dress below — it’s so lovely. In toffee above is my dream dress.

On My Mind

Chemena Kamali’s Chloé

Chloé’s new creative director, Chemena Kamali, launched a series of portraits of iconic women from different eras of the house that “…capture the emotion and energy of Chloé and the women who embody both its history and spirit. They are effortlessly powerful, beautiful, free.” David Sims’s photographs exemplify the Chloé spirit perfectly.

The series, featuring the new refined Chloé logo, is revealed ahead of the Chloé Winter 2024 show, which will take place during Paris Fashion Week on February 29th, 2024. This is my most anticipated show of the upcoming FW24 collections.

Slip Into Saint Laurent

Both toe shapes on these SS24 Saint Laurent slip-ons are divine. Left & right.

Beauty

A.P.C. Beauty

With a significant LVMH-backed investment last March, A.P.C. is having a growth spurt. Founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou, the brand is expanding and yesterday launched a line of self-care products. The house’s signature orange blossom scent is featured. A longtime A.P.C. fan, I’m eager to try all of the above.

A Perfect Pairing

I have my eye on this Moncler quilted down shell jacket, it would look great with these Frame Slim Palazzo jeans — a perfect pairing.

On My Inspiration Board

Miuccia’s Magic

I’m completely taken with this picture of Princess Olympia of Greece and Denmark in February Town & Country. The enchanting Prada shift and satin mules take ‘pretty’ in a whole new direction. I love Princess Olympia’s hair and lip color, too.
