I am a wardrobe builder, I buy items with the intent of wearing them forever along with pieces I already own. Ergo grey and brown — they suit me and go the distance. For FW25 I added these High Sport pants, The Row pumps, and Hermès boots below. The Row sweater is from last winter, as are the skirt, booties, ankle-strap pumps, Vince sweater, Carolina Herrera cape, Gauchere top and wrap skirt, Commission pleated skirt and a number of old Celine, grey wrap skirts. All are out and ready for another year.
Beautiful selections. Preston, how do you wear slingbacks in colder months?
I put them on when I get to wherever I am going… I often wear tights with slingbacks, too.

The black and the blue pairs that I am wearing are Frame, the ones in the top right are Khaite. That collage is from November 2022. Today I wear the skinny jeans with boots, only.

I so appreciate your edited focus, Preston. I have had the high sport grey pants on my wishlist for a couple of months. As much as I love my high sport pants, I had a concern that the sillhouette was dated. If they are on your classics list, I’ll pull the trigger!
The silhouette may very well be dated, but I travel a lot and the High Sport pants are a lifesaver when going from plane to event. Full disclosure, I did straighten the flare a bit…
I bought the cowboy booties after you recommended them a couple of years ago. But I am struggling for ideas on how to wear them with anything besides jeans. A post or a comment with a few option on how you wear yours would be wonderful.
