On My Radar

Louis Vuitton’s new perfume, Pacific Chill, has many of the fragrance notes I love. Lauren Santo Domingo, Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer of Moda Operandi, has been appointed Artistic Director of the Tiffany Home collection. I love her taste and I’m excited to see what she comes up with. These bone china coffee cups are fun. A book about a rare bookseller titled Once Upon a Tome is right up my alley. I had a style reset moment last week when I spied an incredibly chic woman in green Adidas Sambas. I’m desperately trying to move beyond my neutrals-only style sensibility. Friday we are seeing Asteroid City — can’t wait!

I bought this Frame dress in black and love it so much that I just bought it in off white. And, it’s on sale — whoop whoop!

When I spied these mesh pumps in the Khaite Resort collection images, they went straight to the tippy top of my wishlist. I’m not sure why I like them so much, I just know that I do.
In my 20s and 30s I dressed exactly like the top image. Perhaps that’s why I like the shoes so much, they remind me of my younger self.

Khaite knitwear is splendid, the designs and quality are first-rate. Yet, it can be staggeringly expensive. So, when this ribbed sweater with a polo collar in dark green went on sale, I did a little jig. The green one has been on my wishlist, however, cream, black, and grey are gorgeous, too.

At a very fun lunch last week, a friend shared that Dr. Jart+ Cicapair products are her skincare heroes. Years ago I bought the Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment and the jar has been sitting at the back of a shelf ever since. I brought it out, tried it, and promptly bought a replacement plus the Re.pair Serum and Re.pair Cream, as well. Along with the Agustinus Bader Rich Cream, which I started using again after all the comments on a recent post, my skin looks remarkably better — less dry and red. Thanks, KB!

I’m trying to get my friend Helen to come see the play Grey House with me, the psychological thriller starring Laurie Metcalf. Years ago, Helen took me to an insanely creepy play, so I bet she’ll like this one, too. A year after the death of their drummer, the Foo Fighters’ new album, But Here We Are, is out and it’s very good. I need to pick up Eliza Minot’s In The Orchard from the Locust Valley Bookstore. I ordered it a few weeks ago and keep forgetting to stop by the shop… I saw these incredible pots by Guy Wolff Pottery on a garden tour in Hudson, NY last weekend — the white ones would look amazing on my patio. While at a house party recently, a few women were raving about Cariuma sneakers. I don’t have a pair, but they look like a mashup of Tretorns and Supergas. And, I just gave an Hermès Plein Air H Trio Mineral Powder as a birthday present and I’m awaiting my friend’s review.

A little red goes a long way. A The Row oversized tote, Ganni boots (on sale and perfect for my trip to Wyoming end of this month), and a Clé de Peau Beauté lipstick are a good way to wear a bit of the fiery hue.
On My Mind

I’m hardwired to know which way is north, the elevation of my current location, and where we are in the lunar cycle, so, breaking tradition with the Gregorian calendar is a big deal for me. However, I’m determined to override the fact that the Summer Solstice is the official start of summer and adopt the notion that summer starts June 1 — today!
I pulled out my white Dr. Scholl’s and straw market baskets. Flowers from the garden, a strawberry-Rhubarb galette, opening the pool, and the French Open = bliss!
On the hunt for a black skirt

The weather warmed up significantly, so I moved my coats, wool skirts, and winter wear to a back closet. Sweaters are being cleaned and repaired before they, too, go into storage. In exchange, out came my spring standbys. This is the moment when I realize that I don’t have fill-in-the-blank. This year it’s lighter-weight, knee-length black skirts. I bought a few (too many) black J. Crew polos and realized that I have only one black cotton to-the-knee skirt. The rack of cream, beige, camel, and denim skirts and multiple minis doesn’t fill this hole. So, I’m on the hunt and willing to shorten if it fits the bill. This Matteau cotton-poplin maxi skirt could be perfect and it’s on sale.

My friend Gigi sent me this photo she took of the newspaper ad for the opening of Chanel’s East Hampton Seasonal Boutique. Everything about the image is compelling — a field trip out east is in order.
